1880 Historic Chimney Restoration Project

This is a Queene Anne Victorian 1880 home in Northeast Kansas City, Missouri.  We tore down and rebuild five chimneys in their original style, going by photographs taken in the 1920's.  The upper sections of the chimneys were gone.  Each chimney was built in a different style, using butter joints and Little Reds historic bricks.  Eight flues were relined and eight fireplaces were rebuilt by our team.  The project took five months to complete.  The largest chimney is 30' tall from the roof line. Gene Padgitt was awarded first place in the National Chimney Sweep Guild contest 2012, and first place in the Masonry Construction contest in 2010 by the Masonry Heater Association of North America for this project.
