Netiquette on the CP Forum
Please be courteous and respectful of those who express their opinions on the CP Forum. Please refrain from saying anything you would not say in a public area.
Do not use foul or scatological language. Do not make personal attacks on individual or companies. Do not use vulgarity. Do not attack another's personal beliefs
Think before you hit the "enter" key and send your message around the world to other chimney professionals. Remember, you are entitled to your opinion, as are others.
Many parts of North America and Europe are represented on this forum and sometimes, depending on local custom and codes, people do things differently. This does not make them wrong.
Spamming will result in removal from the CP Forum.
Do not send graphic files as attachments to your email. Some people still have slow connections to the Internet and graphic files just take too long to download. If you feel that you have a graphic that everyone should see, just send an email describing the graphic and offer to send the file to individuals who request it from you.
If you have a problem with another individual member of the CP Forum, please send a private message to that person in an attempt to resolve the problem. Don't bring it to the floor of the CP Forum. If you receive a private communication from another individual, treat it as private. It is contrary to good netiquette to repost someone's private message to the CP Forum.
Remember, a breach of netiquette could result
in your being removed from the CP Forum.
What are Smoke Signals?
The Ask your Chimney Professional section of chimneys.com is a place for homeowners to ask questions and request help. When homeowners complete the form on this section and submit their questions to the CP Forum, we receive the message and post the questions to the CP Forum. We call these messages "Smoke Signals." When they are sent to members of the CP Forum, they will have the Subject Line: Smoke Signals.
If you wish not to view these help requests, delete the E-mail messages that have this Subject Line. If you do wish to help, please reply directly to the E-mail address of the homeowner who is asking the question. These homeowners are not on the CP Forum and will not see your response if you reply to the CP Forum.
If you notice that a homeowner from your area is asking for help, please don't fail to mention your on-site services. This is just another way that we at chimneys.com will try to help you increase your business.
